Last blog from india, eh?
....it's the Eve of my last day in India, ladies and gentlemen (so drama-mama....)
I figure this is a good time to wrap up, since i'm also reallllyy bored right now..my 'to-do' list is unfortunately a tad short, i'm almost packed.. and i've no other tourist spots to visit in B'lore (more like, i DON'T wanna visit..and i DON'T wanna fight with autoriksha drivers anymore) ..plus i have no more luggage space/weight to shop anymore...take shopping out of my life, and i'm BORED. I'm SO looking forward to my flight tmrw evening =)
Well, what can i say. I'm going to miss India..the spices of india...every corner, there's entertainment (people fighting with riksha driver, cow pissing, dog running, construction workers working, men letching at woman, and so on..)
I spent the last week in Hyderabad and Chennai visiting my relatives. Reasons being: (1) i wanted to meet my cool aunts and grandparents, (2) they have airconditioners at home, (3) food/accomodation is free, and more importantly (4) as of 1May, i didn't have a bed to sleep on in my place at B'lore =p
So i decided to spend 3 nights on trains and move around India. Which brings me to Reason (5): I wanted to travel on the Indian trains for one last time. Love them.
So anyway, India has changed me. As it would change anyone. But I've learnt so much about life, the value of money, indifference, maturity, courage, love, family, friendship, politics (office =p), poverty VS being poor VS being so poor you have nothin to eat, cheating people, adjusting to really bad situations (the toilets!!), being faithful, the serious things in life, the fun things in life, the interesting things in life, MYSELF...the list goes on...but most importantly, i'm learning about Change.
I will not say that i've learnt all that there is to know about Change, but I'm learning how to execute it, how to accept it when others change, how to move on when I and others have changed.
Okay, as the Indians would say, 'that's a lot of "gyan"' ..gyan=knowledge i.e. Bullshite =p
So what else is there to say about India?
1. Its people are genuine...once u get to know them. A smile initiated by u gets u everywhere u want to go =)
2. Life in India is hard. Look out of the train window and take a look at the platform-sleepers, next time u're in India.
3. Life in India is great, if you can afford it. I get a taste of the 'good life' whenever I visit my family...but that's not India-India.
4. Men in India are terrible, if they're strangers on the street. But they make the best friends when you get to know them.
5.Food: Paneer Butter Masala and Jeera Rice. I would recommend this to any traveller to India. AWESOME food.
I dont know when I will be coming back next. Perhaps for another cousin's marriage sometime in the next 2 years...and perhaps for a week at most. But that's more than enough, i reckon =) I STILL wanna see Calcutta though!
At least now I can confidently initiate and win a fight with a rickshaw driver =D
"Courage is there itself!!"
